Step into a leadership role based in our Fortitude Valley office, overseeing the delivery of a major electrical infrastructure upgrade in the Cabramurra Township, set against the scenic Snowy Mountains.

As a Power Systems Engineer, you’ll lead the project from Brisbane — coordinating design, delivery, and commissioning activities with on-site teams — ensuring seamless execution and technical excellence.

This is a high-profile, technically complex project involving HV/LV power systems, underground cabling, and advanced substation technology. Your expertise will directly shape the reliability and performance of critical infrastructure that supports regional and industrial growth.

In This Role, You Will

  • Specify and procure HV/LV substations including RMUs, transformers, switchboards, and kiosk enclosures.
  • Coordinate civil pad design with associated electrical requirements
  • Design HV and LV cable routes – conduits, pits, submains, and distribution pillars.
  • Perform protection grading and arc flash studies using ETAP to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Lead earthing design leveraging SafeGrid analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with design drawings, specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Liaise with surveyors, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver outcomes on time and to the highest standard.
  • Coordinate with Service Provider to complete connection agreement and associated studies and requirements

About You

We are looking for ambitious engineers who thrive on complexity and want to see their work make a measurable impact.

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (or trade qualifications with strong project experience).
  • Proven expertise in HV/LV distribution, substations, and electrical infrastructure delivery.
  • Proficient in ETAP, SafeGrid, and AutoCAD.
  • Strong grounding in protection systems, fault studies, and earthing design.
  • Skilled in project management, leadership, and clear stakeholder communication.
  • PSSE/PSCAD proficiency will be highly regarded
