THE OPPORTUNITY:

PHE Mining have an opportunity for a highly motivated HSE Advisor to join our team on a project in South Australia. In this role, you will be working on a 2 and 1 FIFO roster. Flights, accommodation and meals will be provided.

Reporting to the HSE Lead, this role will ensure a culture of safety and quality on site, as well as maintain compliance with management systems. You will be responsible for providing HSE support, training, and building safety knowledge across for our people in the surface / underground environment.

This role is working in an Underground Mine, and the roster is split between day shift and night shift.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide leadership that encourages Work Health, Safety & Environment throughout site to create a continuous improvement culture and implement best practice management systems in the workplace
  • Undertake regular training needs analysis and manage internal audit programs in consultation with management team
  • Prepare reports, record data, and collect evidence of the site’s compliance
  • Provide active management of workers' compensation matters, including rehabilitation, case management and return to work programs
  • Reporting any workers compensation matters to Management
  • Ensure that all people work sensibly, safely and abide to all WHS & Environmental Acts and Regulations
  • Conduct random D&A testing on site
  • Identify health, safety, and environmental non-conformances, conduct investigations and develop solutions for implementation

ABOUT YOU:

  • Experience as a HSE Advisor working on Industrial Electrical construction projects
  • Able to identify and resolve complex problems in a timely manner
  • Excellent attitude to safety 
  • Sound working knowledge and understanding of WHS and Environmental legislation, standards and code of practice
  • Strong Safety Leadership
  • Highly organised with impeccable attention to detail
  • Sound Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel skills
  • Flexible and open to working away from home, as required by the company.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Diploma OHS qualified or Minimum of Cert IV WHS and TAE
  • White / Blue Construction Card
  • Current Unrestricted Manual Drivers Licence
  • Internal Auditing training (preferred)
  • D&A testing qualification or ability to obtain
  • Return to Work Coordination Qualification
