ABOUT THE POSITION
In this role you will plan and coordinate both domestic and international consignments through various modes of delivery, such as air, road, rail, sea, and courier parcel services. You will have a good understanding of import taxes and duties, and experience managing a wide range of internal and external stakeholder relationships with customers and suppliers alike. You will also have good links to national and international freight forwarders and 3PL’s.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Obtain and supply quotes for a range of domestic and international freight – including secure carrier services.
- Book and action all daily despatches, ensuring compliance with organisational policies.
- Ensure both time and cost-efficient freight services are utilised for all export and import shipments.
- Work closely with our international freight forwarding partners and internal stakeholders to ensure correct lodgement of bookings.
- Build and manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships with staff, customers, suppliers, freight forwarders and 3PL’s.
- Investigate all claims and incidents, ensuring matters are actioned, followed-up and closed-out in a timely and thorough manner.
- Prepare electronic shipping documents to accompany consignments, meet customs clearance requirements, and ensure documents are sent in a timely manner and archived accordingly for auditing purposes.
- Raise and receipt purchase orders for all freight related invoices.
- Assist with data entry and monthly logistics reporting as required.
- Ensure the health and safety of themselves, and others at all times.
We are looking for someone who has the following:
- Previous experience working in one or more of the critical logistics services - air, road, sea, rail, and courier.
- Experience or understanding of international customs clearance, tariff codes, incoterms, and free trade agreements is considered highly advantageous
- Previous experience using an ERP platform such as SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics etc.
- Intermediate computer skills using MS Office suite is essential.
- High-level communication and planning skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to obtain a satisfactory security clearance and White ASIC card, which the company will provide during on-boarding.
