The Opportunity:
A six-month, full-time position is available at our Refinery site, ideally commencing in early December. This role provides essential administrative and secretarial support to the Refinery Engineering team during a particularly active period of project delivery. You’ll be at the centre of day-to-day operations, helping to keep things organised, documented, and running smoothly.
Your responsibilities will span a variety of tasks, from preparing supporting documents for Project Engineers and managing departmental records, to coordinating purchase requisitions and handling invoices. You’ll assist in drafting procedures, liaise with contractors for quotes and payments, and work closely with other departments across the Perth Mint to ensure alignment and efficiency. Confidentiality, safety, and environmental awareness are key aspects of this role, and you’ll be expected to uphold these standards in everything you do.
This is a busy, hands-on role that requires someone who’s organised, reliable, and ready to contribute meaningfully to a high functioning team.
About You:
You’re a capable and detail-oriented administrator with a proactive mindset and a strong sense of responsibility. You’ve previously worked in administrative roles and are confident managing documentation, coordinating with stakeholders, and supporting technical teams. Experience in technical writing would be a bonus, but your ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively is what really sets you apart.
Ideally, you’ve completed a Certificate III or IV in Business Administration and are comfortable using computer systems and Microsoft Office tools. You know how to manage your time effectively in a fast-paced environment, and your attention to detail helps you stay on top of competing priorities. Your written communication is clear, your interpersonal skills help you build strong working relationships, and your emotional intelligence allows you to navigate challenges with professionalism and care.
Whether you’re managing invoices, drafting procedures, or liaising with contractors, you approach each task with precision and purpose – and you’re ready to make a meaningful contribution from day one.
