In this role, you will work with the Perth Mint leadership team to effectively manage environmental risks and obligations across the Perth Mint operations, and to successfully deliver our environmental management plan.
Reporting into the General Manager Sustainability, this is a permanent full-time opportunity, based in East Perth, with occasional travel to our Refinery.
Your role as a Manager Environment will involve:
- Develop, execute, and maintain environmental management processes, controls, and initiatives for The Perth Mint
- Conduct an annual review of the environmental performance of The Perth Mint and develop improvement initiatives accordingly
- Managing the development of adequate training material to ensure employees are aware of their environmental responsibilities, environmental risks, and the impact of these to the business
- Provision of support and advice to stakeholders regarding meeting environmental obligations and minimising environmental risk
- Build strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders including regulatory agencies to effectively manage environmental standards
- Contribute to key decisions, along with the Senior Leadership Team and broader Executive, for issues relating to environmental issues amongst counterparties
- Procurement and management of contractors / consultants related to the delivery of the environmental plan, compliance obligations and ISO14001 requirements
- Oversee the Environmental Management systems in accordance with ISO14001 certifications and Airport (Environmental Protection) Regulations, across all Gold Corporation sites
- Participate in incident investigations where they pertain to environmental issues
We are looking for a candidate who brings:
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental, Science or other relevant discipline
- Experienced in leading and coordinating teams
- 10+ years’ relevant industry experience, including proven leadership in a senior environmental role
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage, influence and build relationships easily
- Strategic thinking and ability to drive, oversee, and develop projects and strategies
- Sound knowledge in Environmental, Social and Governance domains as they relate to broader sustainability at the Perth Mint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of clear, detailed reports
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and strategic decision-making abilities
- Flexibility with working hours to meet business needs, and ability to travel between sites
