ABOUT YOU
As a Data Specialist - Compliance, you’ll be part of the Data Analytics and Privacy team, partnering closely with Compliance, Risk, and Technology to deliver data‑driven regulatory and enterprise risk outcomes.
You will use SQL, statistical and analytical modelling, and Power BI to build trusted metrics, reports, and dashboards supporting AUSTRAC obligations, customer lifecycle management, adverse media screening, transaction monitoring effectiveness, and broader risk‑based data projects across operational, compliance, and financial risk domains.
Additionally, you will act as a data specialist supporting Tech Product Lead/Leads, contributing to data design, platform enhancements, and reporting- particularly within Protecht- to enable a stable, scalable steady‑state operating model.
This role suits someone who enjoys working across systems and stakeholders to translate complex regulatory and risk requirements into robust, actionable data solutions.
We are looking for a candidate who has:
- Experience working in common data platform technologies such as Azure, Snowflake or similar
- Experience with relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server) and document-oriented data stores
- Experience developing and implementing rules-based matching logic, including fuzzy or approximate matching, in the context of transaction monitoring or similar compliance data domains
- Experience with JSON data structures and PowerShell scripting in a data engineering or automation context
