About the role
Perth Airport is seeking an accomplished environmental leader to take on the critical role of Head of Remediation Management. This senior position provides strategic leadership across PFAS and contamination management, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational safety, and long-term environmental sustainability across airport operations and development.
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a seasoned professional with deep technical expertise, strong regulatory insight, and a proven ability to lead people, programs, and stakeholders in complex environments. You will also play a key role in planning, budgeting, governance reporting, and ensuring alignment with the Perth Airport Master Plan and broader organisational strategy, along with the following:
- Provide strategic leadership for PFAS and contamination management programs, from assessment through to remediation and ongoing site management
- Develop and implement fit-for-purpose environmental and remediation strategies aligned to airport development and operational needs
- Ensure compliance with international, national, and WA regulatory frameworks, including PFAS NEMP, ASC NEPM, DWER Contaminated Sites Guidelines and the Stockholm Convention
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of professionals, ensuring engagement, performance, capability uplift and accountability
- Oversee program budgets, schedules, KPIs, and performance, taking corrective action where required
- Provide specialist environmental and regulatory advice to airport operations and project teams
- Prepare and contribute to regulatory, executive, and board-level reports
- Manage complex internal and external stakeholder relationships, including regulators, auditors, and consultants
- Champion safety, values, and environmental stewardship across all activities
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have the following training, experience and attributes:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
- 20+ years’ experience in contaminated sites, PFAS management, monitoring, risk assessment, remediation and waste management
- At least 10 years’ experience leading and managing professional teams
- Demonstrated expertise in applying environmental legislation, guidelines, and best-practice frameworks
- Proven experience working successfully with regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capability
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across diverse audiences
- A track record of delivering complex programs on time and within budget
