Our team are currently looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Heritage Advisor – Perths New Runway on a 2 year Fixed Term Contract.
What you'll do:
As the Heritage Advisor for the Perth New Runway project, you’ll be the driving force behind ensuring cultural heritage commitments are upheld to the highest standard. You’ll oversee compliance with key approvals and heritage plans, conduct audits and risk assessments, and provide expert input into design and tender documentation.
Your role will involve close collaboration with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to embed heritage best practice across all phases of the project. You’ll lead stakeholder engagement, support incident investigations, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
From updating management plans to delivering heritage inductions and supporting permit applications, you’ll help shape a project that respects and protects cultural values while meeting Perth Airport’s strategic goals
About you:
You’re a heritage professional with a passion for protecting cultural values in complex infrastructure environments. To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:
· A degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related discipline.
· Over five years’ experience managing heritage compliance on major construction projects.
· Strong working knowledge of WA and Commonwealth heritage legislation and its practical application.
· Proven ability to develop and implement Cultural Heritage Management Plans across project lifecycles.
· Completion of construction induction training (White Card).
· A current Australian driver’s licence.
· A knack for problem-solving and considering diverse viewpoints.
· A collaborative nature and the ability to build trust with stakeholders at all levels.
· Excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
· A flexible, can-do attitude with the resilience to manage competing priorities and deliver results under pressure
