Our Environmental and Sustainability Management Framework (ESMF) guides our approach, ensuring compliance with Commonwealth and State legislation while addressing key factors such as biodiversity, carbon emissions, air quality, and heritage preservation.

To support our expansion plans while upholding our environmental commitments, our Approvals, Environment, and Heritage team is currently seeking an experienced and passionate Environment Advisor – Compliance to join our dynamic team.

 

What you'll do:

At the core of your role you will be responsible for working collaboratively with Perth Airport internal and external stakeholders to ensure contaminated sites and environmental compliance related issues are managed effectively and efficiently throughout the organisation. 

As an integral member of our team, as part of your role you will:

·      Coordinate/support contaminated land and water investigations, ensuring safety, stakeholder sensitivity, and adherence to regulatory standards (federal and state where relevant).

·      Oversee environmental contractors, ensuring the execution of safe, compliant, and high-quality fieldwork programs.

·      Review contamination management plans and assessment reports in alignment with relevant legislation.

·      Analyse investigation data, assess conceptual site models, and evaluate technical reports.

·      Coordinate fill/soil movements in Perth Airport development sites.

·      Review dewatering management plans for construction activities within the airport estate.

·      Provide guidance and support for remediation of environmental contamination.

·      Verify compliance with legal and environmental obligations, maintaining monitoring data integrity for corporate reporting requirements.

·      Support senior team members in environmental compliance monitoring/management.


About you:

We are seeking candidates who possess:

 

·      A Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science/Earth Sciences/Geology or equivalent related qualification.

·      Current knowledge of State and Commonwealth legislation relevant to the role.

·      Minimum 3-5 years of experience in operational environmental management, with a focus on contaminated sites.

·      Experience with PFAS management, environmental monitoring, and utilisation of GIS and environmental databases (e.g., Envirosys).

·      Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven reporting abilities.

·      The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

·      Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented approach to data-driven research.

·      A desire to work on complex and rewarding projects.
