Portfolio Stakeholder Engagement & Communications Manager

About the role 

We are seeking a highly experienced Portfolio Stakeholder Engagement & Communication Manager to lead and coordinate the stakeholder engagement activities to enable the delivery of the Capital Portfolio. This pivotal role will work closely with our Corporate Communications team to help manage Perth Airport’s reputation, manage internal communication activities, and ensure meaningful engagement with communities, industry, and government. 

You will manage a team of stakeholder professionals and oversee external communications, and drive community engagement programs that deliver tangible benefits. The position requires participation in a 24/7 on-call roster for media and emergency response, ensuring timely and effective communication during critical events, along with the following: 

• Strategic Leadership: Define and implement Portfolio wide strategies for public, industry, and government relations, including regulatory and registration campaigns.
• Campaign Management: Lead planning, coordination, and execution of major stakeholder engagement initiatives, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and risk management frameworks.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders, including local communities, industry partners, and First Nations groups.
• External Communications: Develop and deliver high-impact communication plans that reinforce Perth Airport’s brand and values across multiple platforms.
• Community Engagement: Design and implement programs that foster genuine community alignment and deliver shared benefits.
• Issue Management: Identify, analyse, and prioritise emerging issues, coordinating organisational responses to protect reputation and maintain social licence.
• Governance & Reporting: Establish performance metrics, reporting mechanisms, and governance frameworks to ensure transparency and accountability.
• Team Development: Mentor and guide team members, fostering capability growth and professional development across the organisation.

About You 

• Master’s Degree with 10+ years of relevant experience in stakeholder engagement, public relations, and communication leadership.
• Proven expertise in media relations, reputation management, and strategic communication during large-scale projects.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
• Skilled in digital communication tools, social media platforms, and analytics to optimise engagement strategies.
• Demonstrated success in managing high-level stakeholder relationships and leading events, briefings, and presentations.
