Perth Airport is Australia’s Western Hub connecting the people, businesses and communities of Western Australia with the rest of Australia and the world. Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week throughout the year, Perth Airport plays a significant role in providing economic, social and cultural benefits to West Australians.

Perth Airport is investing more than $5 billion in new infrastructure so we can support our airline partners to grow, offering more services to new destinations and an improved customer experience. This will be the largest funded private equity build in Western Australia for the last 30 years.

Over the coming decade we will expand T1 International, and build new domestic terminal facilities, a parallel runway, two multi-storey carparks and our first airport hotel. This will deliver one airport for the people of Western Australia which will host all flight services in a central location giving passengers a seamless, world-class travel experience.

The Perth Airport estate is spread over 2100 hectares and has developed a $1.5 billion portfolio of existing industrial premises and significant vacant land holdings.

We service a truly diverse community and play an important role in strengthening cultural, family and social bonds while supporting business, tourism and leisure travel.

We’re currently seeking an experienced and driven IT Systems & Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity, performance and security of both our on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure environments. As a trusted expert, you’ll provide high-level technical advice and exceptional support to stakeholders while helping to shape the future of our infrastructure operations.

What you'll do:

  • Deliver expert support and troubleshooting across server, platform and infrastructure systems in both on-premises and Azure cloud environments.
  • Monitor and maintain system performance, availability and security, ensuring proactive issue identification and resolution.
  • Implement and manage physical and virtual servers, storage solutions and networking components to support core business functions.
  • Design, deploy and optimise Microsoft Azure services, including virtual networks, compute, storage and Azure Active Directory.
  • Ensure compliance with Perth Airport’s Change and Patch Management policies while supporting cyber security best practices.
  • Provide detailed technical documentation, including designs, configurations, disaster recovery and operational processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to support infrastructure projects and deliver seamless service outcomes.
  • Participate in the on-call roster to provide rapid response and resolution for critical incidents across IT systems and platforms.

About you:

  • Hold a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field, with 5+ years’ experience in a similar role and 2+ years working with Microsoft Azure.
  • Demonstrated hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualisation (Hyper-V, VMware), and infrastructure automation using PowerShell.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, compliance, networking fundamentals, backup utilities (e.g. Commvault), and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Have relevant certifications (e.g. Azure Administrator Associate AZ-104, Windows Server Hybrid Administrator AZ-800/801) or equivalent experience.
  • Organised and detail-oriented, with a methodical approach to systems management and documentation.
  • Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to minimising service disruptions.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and maintain a customer-focused mindset.
