Mō te tūnga | About the role:
Dr Hamish Campbell MP is looking for an MP Support Advisor, with a focus on community engagement, to join their team in the Ilam Electorate for 20 hours per week with flexibility. This is a wide and varied position providing community engagement and social media support. You’ll be engaging with the community and connecting with stakeholders to provide information and support, including attending meetings and forums within the community. The ability to build strong and trusted relationships is key to being successful in this role.

You’ll need to have strong relationship management and interpersonal skills along with the ability to work with a diverse range of people and organisations. You’ll be a key player in the MP’s support team based out of the Ilam office, although at times will be required to work autonomously.

Ngā haepapa | Some Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise between the MP and the community, representing the MP where required.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local groups and networks, to understand and respond to their needs.
- Support the management of the MPs social media channels in the community.
- Identify and recommend social media opportunities for the Member.

The pay band for the role starts at $72,100 per annum and appointments will be based on skills and experience. All employees who work for MPs are employed on an ‘events-based’ agreement, with your employment linked to your MP. This role is based in the Ilam Electorate office for 20 hours per week with flexibility.
