About the Team | Mō te tīma
The IST Digital Solutions team plays a vital role within the wider Information Systems & Technology (IST) function. We deliver and maintain the business applications that support Parliament’s work, ensuring they meet the needs of the organisation and its people.
Our team champions a customer-centric approach, managing key relationships across Parliamentary Service, the Office of the Clerk, and other precinct agencies. We work closely with stakeholders to deliver digital solutions that are fit for purpose, seamless, and engaging.
About the Role | Mō te tūnga
We’re seeking an experienced and visionary Digital Experience Lead with strong Product Manager experience to shape and implement a digital strategy that lifts Parliament’s digital maturity. You will collaborate closely with Product Owners and leadership to prioritise initiatives that deliver outstanding customer-focused outcomes aligned to organisational goals.
This strategic leadership role involves driving programme planning, governance, and execution. You’ll lead and mentor cross-functional teams, embed continuous learning, and guide the development of AI and data strategies to support Parliament’s future digital engagement.
You’ll bring a solid background in product management, skilled in backlog prioritisation, stakeholder engagement, and agile delivery frameworks, ensuring digital products and initiatives are delivered with maximum value and impact.
Key Responsibilities | Ngā haepapa matua
- Set the strategic direction for the Digital Experience team aligned to organisational priorities
- Collaborate with Product Owners and Digital Solutions leadership to prioritise and manage the digital product pipeline
- Develop and implement digital strategies that enhance user experience and engagement
- Track and analyse digital initiative performance to drive continuous improvement
- Lead programme planning, execution, governance, and benefits realisation
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across Parliament and government agencies
- Lead, mentor, and support Product Owners and cross-functional teams
- Promote continuous learning and innovation in digital ways of working
- Drive strategic direction for AI and data initiatives supporting Parliament’s goals
What You Will Bring | Tō kete
- Proven Product Manager experience or in a closely related role delivering digital products successfully
- Expertise in backlog prioritisation, agile delivery, and stakeholder management
- Strong strategic thinking and planning skills with success in developing and delivering digital strategies
- Demonstrated leadership and team development experience
- Empathy and coaching skills with a passion for storytelling and digital product delivery
- Experience working with senior leadership to translate vision into actionable plans
- Budget, resource, and financial management capabilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proactive, innovative mindset with openness to emerging technologies

This is a full-time permanent role. The starting salary range for this position is $119,351 – $151,366 per annum, with potential for the salary to extend beyond this range depending on the skills and calibre of the successful candidate. Tenure progression is also available based on performance and experience.
