Video and Content Producer | National Leader's Office (NLO) 

About us:

The National Leader's Office (NLO) supports the National Party Leader and National Party MPs, by providing communications services, social media/digital, research support, and general/financial management. We are a dynamic and forward-thinking political organisation, working closely with our MPs, and colleagues in the Prime Minister's Office and Ministerial Services.

About the role:

As a Video and Content Producer, you will collaborate with the Digital Team, National Ministers and MPs and their staff to create photo, video and social media content to use across social, design, web, media and email channels.

A snapshot of some of your daily responsibilities include:

  • Videography and photography: Capturing visually compelling content through videography and photography, with expertise in framing, composition, and lighting to create high-impact visuals.
  • Editing: Postproduction of photo and video content, using the Adobe creative Suite to edit, enhance, and refine raw footage into polished, professional content. 
  • Social media content development: Engage actively with the digital team by contribute your skills and ideas for social media content. This includes participating in brainstorming sessions, providing creative input, and leveraging your expertise to help conceptualise and high-impact content for socials. 

Qualifications/experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in videography and photography.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with a focus on Premiere Pro, Photoshop and Lightroom. 
  • Experience tailoring content for social media channels and what works.
  • Experience using mirrorless DSLR cameras.
  • Strong social media communication skills.
  • Knowledge and interest of the political landscape and machinery of Government is advantageous.

Employees are employed on an ‘events based’ agreement, with your employment linked to the Leader of the National Party. This role is based at the Parliamentary precinct in Wellington for 40 hours per week.
