Mō te tūnga | About the Role:
As the Event Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind organising and delivering exceptional events that engage with Auckland communities, stakeholders, and leaders. You will proactively identify and manage speaking opportunities and events for the Parliamentary Labour Auckland Caucus, ensuring smooth operations, seamless logistics, and meaningful community engagement. This role will have some travel.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Develop and nurture relationships with community leaders, youth, and organisations across Auckland.
- Organise and manage successful events that engage both the public and members of Parliament.
- Oversee logistics, event content, speakers, and promotional materials to ensure top-quality events.
- Capture and share event content on digital platforms, promoting Parliamentary Labour’s initiatives.
- Work closely with staff in the Labour Leader’s Office to schedule and organise media engagements.
- Utilise digital tools to reach and engage Auckland communities.
- Collaborate with Auckland Labour members of Parliament and their teams to ensure aligned goals.
Tō kete | What You Will Bring to the Role:
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- 2-3 years’ experience in event management or a similar role.
- A strong understanding of Auckland’s political environment and community dynamics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to multitask and stay organised under pressure.
- Strong social media and digital media skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively and manage strategic relationships.
- Commitment to the goals and values of the Parliamentary Labour Party.
- Knowledge of Government processes and the New Zealand political landscape.

The pay band for the role starts at $75,000 per annum and appointments will be based on skills and experience.
This is a 12 month fixed term role.
