We’re looking for an MP Support Advisor to help foster the connection between Hon Chris Bishop, MP and their local community. This is a meaningful, people-focused role where no two days are the same.
As an MP Support Advisor, you’ll be the first point of contact for constituents seeking advice or support, and a key member of the electorate office team. You’ll help Hon Chris Bishop MP to stay closely connected to local needs, opportunities, and issues and your work will involve community engagement, relationship building, case management, and being a trusted advocate for constituents navigating government services.
About the Role:
Community Engagement
- Represent the Member in the community and help maintain strong local relationships; support community events, meetings, and engagements monitor local forums and trends to identify issues and opportunities and maintain accurate contact records and community information databases.
Constituent Services
- Meet with constituents and support them through a range of issues; advocate on their behalf with agencies such as Work & Income or Immigration NZ, explain processes and assistance options in clear, accessible language, manage constituent clinics and maintain organised records and case files.

The pay band for the role starts at $74,270 FTE per annum and appointments will be based on skills and experience. All employees who work for MPs are employed on an ‘events-based’ agreement, with your employment linked to your MP. This role is based in the Hutt South Electorate office for 30 hours per week.
