Mō te tūnga | About the role:
We’re seeking a skilled Audio-Visual Technician to join our team. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth audio-visual operations for committee meetings, public hearings, functions and other parliamentary proceedings.
This role is working 40hrs per week on a 7 day roster. The postholder must be flexible to cover non-core business hours, as and when needed.
- Set up, operate and maintain audio-visual equipment for press conferences, select committee meetings, parliamentary function and other wider events.
- Provide technical support for video conferencing and live streaming on parliamentary sessions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve AV issues in real time.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet specific AV requirements.
- Stay up to date with industry leading AV technologies and recommend improvements.
The expected salary range for this role is $72,374 - $79,907 per annum. Appointments will be made on skills and experience.

- Proven experience as an AV technician is required.
- Strong knowledge of audio-visual systems, including microphones, speakers, cameras, and video conferencing platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work outside of regular hours.
This role would suit someone who is proactive self‑starter, shows initiative, and maintains a calm, professional approach.
