In the role of Research Lead | Kaiārahi Tira Rangahau, you’ll provide people leadership and oversee the delivery of high‑quality research services, particularly for Select Committees and House Services. The Research Services Team within the Corporate Services Group plays a key role in supporting Members of Parliament, parliamentary staff, and the public with trusted and impartial research, information, and analysis. Our mission is to ensure that Parliament has the accurate and timely information it needs to make informed decisions.
As part of a collaborative and dedicated team, you will contribute to a culture that values Integrity, Manaakitanga, Accountability, Whanaungatanga, and Empowerment, all while ensuring that the research services provided are aligned with the needs of our customers and the goals of the Parliamentary Service.
Mō te tūnga | About the role:
This is a 12-month fixed term role (or secondment opportunity) where you will:
- Lead, coach, and develop a capable and engaged team, creating a supportive culture focused on excellence.
- Provide clear direction and priorities, empowering your team to deliver high‑quality, impartial research.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of Research Services, ensuring work programmes align with organisational priorities.
- Lead the development of research services to Select Committees, working collaboratively to strengthen support for committee functions.
- Offer technical leadership and expert guidance on research best practice, inspiring the team to achieve shared goals.
The appointing base salary for this role is $114,126 - $126,005 per annum. Appointments will be based on skills, experience and relativity (remuneration band extends beyond the appointing salary range to account for tenure progression).
