Mō te tūnga | About the role:
The Chef de Partie will co-ordinate and prepare all menu items to the highest standards in accordance with the company standards and the directive of the Head Chef. This position will supervise shift operations in the absence of the Head Chef, manage meal service periods and supervise and train junior chefs.
- Prepare and cook high quality dishes for various functions within the parliamentary precinct.
- Assist in menu planning and development, focusing on local and seasonal ingredients.
- Maintain a high standard of hygiene, food delivery and discipline in all kitchens, in accordance with kitchen standards and codes of practice, government legislation and Parliamentary Service policy.
- Ensures proper usage of any food leftovers or wastages, consulting with the Head Chef if required.

- A passion for providing a high-quality service.
- A recognised chef qualification.
- Experience in a high-volume catering operation along with café or restaurant experience, including both a la carte and function catering would be advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of various cooking methods and cuisines.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.

The starting salary range for this role is $63,140 - $69,248 per annum. Appointments will be based on skills and experience (please note, the full salary range extends beyond this to allow for tenure progression).
