Our Information Systems & Technology (IST)  Business Solutions & Planning are a bunch of dedicated, hardworking and technological astute professionals who strive to make the business’s applications at Parliament operate effectively and efficiently.

Mō te tūnga | About the role

This role will be tasked with focusing on the design of Applications. Mainly working with the delivery and digital. You’ll be able to demonstrate your ability to create something unique on our public facing website. If you thoroughly enjoy crafting user-friendly and visually appealing web interfaces, this role will be for you.

Ngā haepapa | key Responsibilities

  • Provides UI/UX advice to planning activities so that work and stakeholder expectations can be managed effectively.
  • Contributes to the design of new and existing applications to ensure applications meet web accessibility requirements.
  • Produces clear and concise documentation to ensure applications UI/UX are well understood and are supportable by the team.
  • Produce user-centred responsive design, wireframing and prototyping

Tō kete | What you will bring to the role

  • Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your web design work.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, or similar software.
  • Familiarity with HTML or CSS to understand development constraints.
  • Strong knowledge of user-centred design principles, usability, and accessibility standards.
  • It’s desirable if you can develop Asp.Net Core Blazor Web Assembly and have experience with Azure DevOps Agile Workflow

The appointing salary range for this role is $102,863 to $113,570 per annum. Appointments will be based on skills and experience (please note, the full salary range extends beyond this to allow for tenure progression).
