Mō te tūnga | About the role
Catherine Wedd MP is looking for a Communications Advisor, who has experience in social media delivery. You will join her team in the Tuktituki electorate office for 10 - 15 hours per week, either working in the office or remotely. You’ll help deliver across all social media platforms to inform and engage the Tukituki community.
This will include developing targeted content across a variety of traditional and social media channels as well as working in the back end of social media. A strong understanding of Facelook, Instagram, Linkedin and Tiktok is required.

Ngā haepapa | Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of the MP’s social media strategy.
- Identify and recommend opportunities to promote the MP’s activities and work to the public across social media.
- Lead the development and implementation of content across all social media platforms.
- Write material in relation to current reactive topics specific to the MP’s electorate and/or areas of interest
- Create, identify, advise and recommend on social media opportunities for the MP
- Chart, assess and evaluate the performance of all social media and report this to the MP
- Use creativity and come up with ideas to engage people in the Tukituki electorate about the work happening in Parliament and across the electorate.
- Work with the Tukituki electorate team and Wellington Parliament team to develop social media content and implement across the various platforms.

The pay band for the role starts at $72,100 per annum and appointments will be based on skills and experience. All employees who work for MPs are employed on an ‘events-based’ agreement, with your employment linked to your MP.
This role is not confined to the Tukituki electorate, but living in the region would be beneficial. The role would be for 10 - 15 hours per week and could be done remotely.
