- Based in Auckland
- Travel and connect with New Zealanders
- Exciting, fast-paced role with plenty of variety.
About the role:
In this role, you will support ACT Members of Parliament (MPs) by engaging with the community and assisting during meetings and events. You'll build relationships with community groups, and maintain databases to track interactions. As an event coordinator, you'll create proposals, manage budgets, and oversee event logistics, ensuring everything runs smoothly. You will also travel with MPs on multi-day tours to facilitate their engagement with constituents, running public meetings and driving the ACT vehicle. Flexibility is key as you may work outside normal hours to meet community engagement goals.
What you will bring to the role:
Above all, we’re looking for a positive, self-starting attitude. Experience in event coordination is a bonus, but not essential—we’re seeking someone who is driven to deliver results and improve processes continuously. If you’re eager to learn and have a proactive approach, we want to hear from you!
To succeed in this role, it’s important that you are aligned with the goals and values of the Parliamentary ACT Party. You’ll be engaging with communities on behalf of ACT MPs, so understanding and supporting the Party's vision and objectives will be key to building authentic connections.
You’ll thrive in this role if you’re organised, adaptable, and ready to roll with the challenges of a dynamic environment. We’re seeking someone who can juggle multiple priorities, work under pressure, and keep cool when things get busy.
Key skills and attributes:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent logistical abilities and attention to detail – able to manage multiple complex priorities simultaneously.
- Resilience and adaptability—you handle setbacks with grace and flexibility.
- A proactive, go-getter attitude that drives projects forward with enthusiasm.
While there’s no ‘perfect’ background for this role, experience in event coordination is helpful. You might come from hospitality, logistics, sales, recruitment, or a similar field.
What's in it for you?
We offer a range of benefits including 5 weeks annual leave, learning and development opportunities and flexible working arrangements.
The salary will be based on skills and experience. All employees who work for MPs are employed on an ‘events-based’ agreement, with your employment linked to your MP. The role is based in Auckland for 40 hours per week.
Applications close 11:59pm Sunday 21 September 2025.
