We’re currently seeking a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to meaningful initiatives that support the physical and psychological wellbeing of our people. Parliamentary Service is dedicated to fostering a culture of care, driving continuous improvement, and delivering strategic outcomes across both the Parliamentary Precinct and Out-of-Parliament Offices.

As part of a small, dedicated team, you’ll play a key role in enabling health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives—from supporting strategic planning to coordinating operational programmes and providing expert guidance to employees. You’ll work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, gaining exposure to cross-agency collaboration and influencing positive change.

Key Responsibilities | Ngā Haepapa Matua:

  • Play a part in the design, development of the Parliamentary Service Health, Safety and Wellbeing strategy.
  • Triage and follow up events through our H&S system to determine event severity and identify learning review needs.
  • Support business areas to complete assurance activities.
  • Assist employees to resolve issues of discomfort and injury management.
  • Coordinate key operational components of the health & safety plan including health and wellbeing initiatives, e.g. workstation assessments, flu vaccinations and health checks.
  • Coordinate the delivery of health and safety training and programmes where necessary.
  • Support return-to-work plans and facilitate committee meetings.
  • Contribute to data analysis, risk identification, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a full-time fixed term opportunity, ideally starting in November and running for 6 months. The appointing range for this role will be $72,374 - $79,907 per annum pro rata.
