Our content producers are the beating heart of the Green Party communications team. They are the creative experts responsible for translating our core messages into high-quality, engaging online and offline content that will drive up support for our policy solutions. 

Mō te tūnga | About the role:

The Content Producer role sits within the Green Party’s Parliamentary communications team, which is responsible for getting MPs’ messages out to the world. 

The Content Producer will take charge of digital and print communications, graphic and print design, digital content production, video production and liaising with members of the Green Party Parliamentary Office to develop content that builds support for our vision and ideas.

Here’s a snapshot of other things you’ll get involved with:

  • Developing a range of high-quality, creative content (including graphic and print, video and audio content, and photos).
  • Creating content that communicates Green Party policies, visions, and ideas in ways that engage key audiences and help build awareness of Green Party MPs’ work in Parliament.
  • Leading the content creation for specific projects, including planning and developing a creative brief for announcements and making sure the brief is followed throughout.

To help support Te Mātāwaka, the Green Party’s Māori and Pasifika Caucus, and its three electorate MPs, understanding of Māori politics and/or a connection to the electorates held by Green MPs will be an advantage.

Tō kete | What you will bring to the role:

We’re looking for a creative designer with a passion for changing the world. We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience working in a busy design role.
  • Experience producing a range of different content from video, to graphic design, to memes.
  • Experienced developing a wide range of different types of content.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Excellent visual, written and oral communication skills.
  • A working knowledge of social media trends, tools and technologies.
  • The ability to be creative and work as part of a team generating new and innovative ideas.
  • Strong initiative and an ability to come up with new ideas, plan, and lead projects from start to finish.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • The ability to learn quickly and adapt your style and approach to changing priorities and trends.
  • Strong people skills, including an ability to advise senior colleagues on the types of content that will and will not work, and to explain why.
  • An interest in politics and the work of the Green Party

This role is from 30 hours per week with option of full time, events-based position based in Wellington. Some flexibility of working hours will be required depending on the priorities of the Parliamentary Green Party.

Salary range for this role is $75,000 to $85,000 depending on experience.

All employees who work for Political Party Offices are employed on an 'events based' agreement, with your employment linked to the party co-leaders.
