The Finance team is part of the Corporate Services Group at Parliamentary Service. We provide essential financial services that support Members of Parliament, the Office of the Clerk, and the wider parliamentary community.

Mō te tūnga | About the Role

We’re looking for an Accounts Officer (AP/AR) to join our Finance team on a 6-month fixed term contract. In this role, you’ll deliver accurate and timely accounts payable, accounts receivable, and purchase card processing, while ensuring compliance with financial policies and legislative requirements.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you will:

  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
  • Reconcile major supplier accounts and creditor statements
  • Manage purchase card transactions and escalate non-compliance
  • Provide consistent and accurate advice on financial policies and entitlements
  • Support finance system training and maintain audit trails
  • - Identify and suggest improvements in processing procedures

  • Strong financial processing experience and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong planning, organisation, and time management abilities
  • Sound knowledge of financial legislation and parliamentary processes
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Please note: This is a fixed-term role. The salary range for this position is $64,485 - $70,979 per annum.
