About the Team 

The IST Group delivers critical information systems, technology, and communications services to Parliamentary Service, its clients, and partnering agencies. We ensure Parliament’s digital environment remains secure, resilient, and innovative in an ever-evolving threat landscape. 

About the Role 

As a Senior Cyber Security Analyst, you’ll be responsible for safeguarding Parliament’s ICT services and infrastructure. You’ll work to prevent, detect, and respond to cyber threats, ensuring our network remains protected from evolving risks. Your expertise will drive vulnerability remediation, incident response, and the development of security best practices. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead vulnerability remediation, ensuring risks are identified and addressed efficiently. 
  • Conduct threat hunting, using advanced tools to detect and mitigate security breaches. 
  • Provide incident response, including forensic analysis and recovery planning. 
  • Collaborate with government agencies and external partners on cyber security initiatives. 
  • Deliver technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members. 
  • Develop and monitor security standards across third-party vendors and internal teams.

What You Will Bring to the Role 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, cyber security, or a related field. 
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a security analyst role within a large, complex organisation. 
  • Strong understanding of cyber security frameworks, incident response, and risk management. 
  • Formal certification in cyber security (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent). 
  • Current knowledge of threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and common attack vectors. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and communication abilities. 

Desirable: 

  • Experience in public sector security or working in government agencies. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft security technologies and forensic analysis tools. 
  • Strong relationship management and mentoring skills. 
  • Adaptability and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Please note: This is a full-time permanent role. The starting salary range for this position is $125,000 - $135,000 per annum, with opportunities for tenure progression based on skills and experience.
