- 6-Month full time contract engagement, Wellington CBD.
- High-impact transformation role with strong visibility.
- Join a dynamic team where high energy, pace & impact go hand-in-hand.
Mō te tūnga | About the role:
Parliamentary Service has built a high-performing hospitality and events operation within a unique public sector environment. Now we’re looking to lift the maturity of our systems, reporting, and pricing so it matches the quality of what we deliver. We’re seeking an experienced commercial finance professional to help take us to the next level — improving visibility, strengthening decision-making, and building a more robust commercial framework. Working directly with senior leaders, you’ll review how our systems and data operate, make the “true cost to serve” visible, and help shape a clear, defensible approach to pricing and operating model decisions.
This is not a consulting exercise — it’s a hands-on, embedded role focused on practical improvements and real outcomes. You’ll play a key role in supporting a complex environment where transparency, accountability, and defensible decision-making are critical.
- Develop a clear, actionable view of event-level profitability to support better decision-making.
- Design and implement a robust cost allocation model, including shared services (e.g. AV, security, facilities).
- Enhance reporting outputs and dashboards to improve visibility, insight, and usability
- Identify and recommend practical system integration and improvement opportunities.
- Establish a transparent, defensible pricing framework grounded in cost, market benchmarks and context.
- Define a clear and consistent operating model across Hospitality & Events activities.
Tō kete | What you will bring to the role:
This role will suit an experienced commercial finance or systems professional who enjoys working at the intersection of data, operations and decision-making.
You’re someone who:
- Experience working with hospitality or events management systems would be highly advantageous, particularly in environments with complex cost structures and service delivery models.
- Enjoys understanding how different parts of our organisation come together, particularly where there is an opportunity to enhance visibility, streamline processes and improve insight.
- Takes a hands-on, pragmatic approach, focusing on workable solutions rather than theory.
- Thrives in complex environments, ideally with exposure to multi-service operations (e.g. hospitality, events, facilities, or similar).
- Is motivated by shaping something meaningful — bringing clarity, transparency and structure to a unique working environment.
This role offers a high degree of autonomy, strong executive engagement, and the opportunity to deliver visible, lasting impact. Ideally this is an hourly rate contract, but if you would prefer a 6-month fixed term engagement, we'd be open to hearing from you too.
