As a core function of this support is our highly motivated Finance Group, providing a range of financial, planning and procurement services to customers across the two organisations.
Mō te tūnga |About the role:
This newly created permanent role will see you responsible for providing professional and timely legal guidance, advice and support on a wide range and level of corporate and commercial matters to Parliamentary Service and Office of The Clerk. The role involves working closely with Procurement and business stakeholders on various complex commercial matters including contracts, negotiations, compliance and corporate governance. This is a full-time role but we’re also very open to part-time hours i.e. 24 hours (3 days) or more per week.
Tō kete |What you will bring to the role:
You will have a broad range of experience in providing in-house legal advice on a wide range of commercial matters. We’re looking for:
- Demonstrable business and commercial legal experience, ideally as in-house counsel.
- Qualifications in Law and a current New Zealand Practicing Certificate.
- Working knowledge of procurement concepts, processes, activities and trends highly beneficial.
- High level of legal and commercial acumen coupled with a solutions-focused mindset.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage a range of simple to complex legal matters while maintaining practical solutions tailored to diverse audiences.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to balance competing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Able to work in a pragmatic team environment where administration is part of our role, and we do what is needed to get things done.
