Parliamentary Service is recruiting four senior leaders to strengthen delivery and consistency across our digital group. Together, these roles ensure Parliament is supported by reliable, secure and well‑governed digital services as we prepare for the demands of an election year.

Mō te tūnga | About the role:

We’re looking for an experienced Manager – IT Planning & Performance to lead strategic planning, financial management and performance reporting across Parliamentary Service. You’ll own planning, budgets and commercial arrangements, ensuring strong governance, risk management, assurance and business continuity across IT services.

This is a senior leadership role with real influence. You’ll set clear direction, be ambitious for performance, and own outcomes - providing visibility of priorities and progress, surfacing risks early, and lifting delivery discipline across the group.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading IST business planning, performance reporting and governance.
  • Owning budgets, forecasting, financial controls and value‑for‑money outcomes.
  • Providing trusted commercial and strategic advice to senior IT leaders.
  • Managing vendor relationships and contract performance end‑to‑end.
  • Strengthening business continuity and resilience across critical IT services.
  • Leading and developing a high‑performing planning and commercial team.

  • Commercial leadership in an IT/digital environment - shaping commercial strategy.
  • Senior experience in IT planning, performance, finance or commercial leadership.
  • Strong judgement and accountability in complex, ambiguous environments.
  • Proven people leadership - setting clear expectations and lifting capability.
  • Experience working within governance, assurance and risk frameworks.
  • The ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate clearly.
  • High integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to obtain NZSIS Confidential security clearance.

Ngā kōrero matua | Key details:

The salary midpoint for this role is $190,000.00 per annum. Starting offers will be aligned to skills and experience, and the full salary range allows for progression with tenure.

This role is based on the Parliamentary precinct. Being present on site is an important part of building relationships, supporting teams and working effectively in the Parliamentary environment, and regular in‑office presence is therefore expected.
