About us:
The National Leader's Office (NLO) supports the National Party Leader and National Party MPs, by providing communications services, social media/digital, research support, and general/financial management. We are a dynamic and forward-thinking political organisation, working closely with our MPs, and colleagues in the Prime Minister's Office and Ministerial Services.
About the role:
As a Digital Communications Advisor you will have a passion for political communication to help develop and build public support for the National vision and policy.

A snapshot of some of your daily responsibilities include:
- Working with other members of the Digital Team to manage digital communications for the National Leader’s Office on a range of channels on social media.
- Writing copy and publishing content on social media channels, email programmes and web assets.
- Posting to social media platforms: Optimise our reach and engagement by scheduling and posting content on social media platforms, staying updated on trends, understanding platform algorithms, and tailoring content for maximum visibility and impact.
- Providing advice on digital communications and understanding of what works on each channel.
- Contributing to digital engagement reporting.
- Assist the Digital Manager is project management of digital communications campaigns.
- Ensuring communications via digital media are delivered in a professional and timely manner.
Qualifications/experience:
- Exceptional communication and digital skills, ideally in a political context.
- A strong understanding of social media trends, platform algorithms, and audience behaviour – ideally across the political landscape.
- A passion for creativity and a drive to deliver results.
- Experience copy writing, copy editing, social media, social media management tools, email management tools, video editing.
- Understanding of the political environment and the machinery of Government.
- Developing and maintaining effective networks of professional relationships and contacts across the Party, Public Sector, Government agencies and other Progressive organisations.
- Skills in Adobe Suite – Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Illustrator is an advantage.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
- Previous experience in digital communications or similar role.
