We’re looking for enthusiastic Casual Kitchenhands/Kitchen Porters to join our Catering team. In this vital support role, you’ll be playing a key part in the smooth delivery of catering services across the Parliamentary precinct.

  • Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen and food preparation areas.
  • Receiving, unpacking, and storing deliveries accurately and efficiently.
  • Assisting with setup and breakdown of catering events and functions.
  • Supporting chefs and kitchen staff with food preparation tasks as needed.
  • Collaborating with the Functions team to ensure seamless event service delivery.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and enjoys hands-on work. Our kitchen operates seven days a week, servicing a variety of events and functions. Event times can vary, and as a casual team member, you may be called upon at short notice. This role is paying national living wage.

The Parliamentary Catering Team is dedicated to showcasing New Zealand's premium hospitality services & products; and delivering memorable experiences at Parliament. The team manages several food and beverage venues within the Parliamentary precinct; each offering a different and unique experience; these include the Copperfields café, A Pint of Order bar, and New Zealand's premium dining cuisine restaurant - Bellamys. A further function of the team is providing catering and hospitality services for the numerous events that are held on the Parliamentary precinct, under the Huihui brand.
