Senior Control Systems Engineer – Perth

Paradigm Engineers is a Perth-based engineering consultancy delivering electrical, instrumentation, and control systems projects across mining, mineral processing, and infrastructure. We are part of the largest mining-focused systems integrator in Australia, and we are growing our Perth team to meet a strong and expanding project pipeline.

Our current work spans greenfield and brownfield mining, materials handling, mineral processing, and port facilities, covering design, construction, commissioning, and optimisation.

The Role

As a Senior Control Systems Engineer, you will take technical ownership of control system scope across varied and challenging projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing control systems solutions that meet both client requirements and industry standards
  • PLC and SCADA programming across platforms including Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens, Citect, FactoryTalk View, and Wonderware
  • Producing high-quality technical documentation including specifications, reports, procedures, and manuals
  • Supporting site visits and commissioning activities
  • Mentoring and providing technical guidance to less experienced engineers
  • Collaborating with clients and project teams to keep work aligned and on track

What We Are Looking For

  • Engineering degree or equivalent tertiary qualification
  • Demonstrated PLC and/or SCADA programming experience
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and develop control system designs from varied inputs
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability
  • Clear and effective communication, both written and in person

Experience in mineral processing, bulk materials handling, or stockyard systems is advantageous, as is familiarity with functional safety, IT/OT networks, virtualised environments, or additional complementary skills such as Python, PowerShell, or Linux.

What We Offer

  • Market-competitive remuneration with paid overtime and site uplifts
  • Reward and recognition aligned to performance and contribution
  • Flexible working hours
  • Respectful and supportive management culture.
  • Exposure to major projects for Tier 1 clients
  • A modern Belmont office with premium workstations, a dedicated test lab, and free on-site parking
  • A genuine commitment to professional development and career progression

We welcome applications from candidates who may not meet every requirement. Technical aptitude and a strong work ethic matter as much to us as ticking every box.

We're open to permanent, contract, and casual engagements. Relocation assistance will be considered for the right candidate.

Direct applications only. We are not accepting applications through recruitment agencies.
