The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Program Director to lead the delivery of our integrated therapeutic program. This role is responsible for overseeing our clinical team and ensuring the highest standard of mental health and addiction treatment, aligned with accreditation standards and evidence-based practice.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Program Director is a key leadership position supporting program development, quality assurance, risk management, clinical governance, and therapeutic team supervision.

The Day-to-Day

The Program Director will hold responsibility for the following tasks, which will make up the majority of the work for the successful candidate:

  • Lead clinical governance across the site, ensuring compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and internal standards
  • Supervise and support the therapeutic team, providing leadership in best-practice treatment planning and delivery
  • Oversee individual, group, and family therapy, ensuring trauma-informed, evidence-based care
  • Monitor client outcomes and program effectiveness using tools such as Novopsych
  • Support the intake, assessment, case review, and discharge processes
  • Identify and manage clinical risk, working closely with the General Manager on quality and safety initiatives
  • Collaborate with medical and nursing staff to ensure holistic client support
  • Contribute to program development, strategic planning, and external stakeholder engagement
  • Liaise with families, referrers and external providers in a compassionate and professional manner

The successful candidate will be required to hold the following qualifications and/or certifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work (Mental Health), or a related discipline
  • Current registration with AHPRA, PACFA, ACA AMHSW, or another relevant regulatory body
  • Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience in mental health and/or AOD treatment
  • Minimum two (2) years in a clinical leadership or supervision role
  • Demonstrated understanding of diagnostic frameworks, clinical documentation, and care planning
  • Experience working within accreditation frameworks (e.g., NSQHS Standards, Mental Health Act)
  • Training in trauma-informed care and holistic modalities such as mindfulness or somatic therapies is highly regarded
  • Certification in clinical supervision or willingness to obtain within 90 days of commencement
