We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Engineer to join our Wagon Engineering team, based across various locations. This role is flexible, with opportunities to be based in Newcastle, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide or Sydney.

What You’ll Do

Support the delivery of safe, reliable and innovative engineering solutions across our wagon fleet.

Reporting to the Wagon Engineering Manager, you will:

  • Assist with engineering changes and modifications to rollingstock and wagon designs
  • Contribute to fleet reliability improvement programs and initiatives
  • Support component testing and validation of maintenance and fault rectification programs
  • Maintain fleet configuration records and engineering documentation
  • Investigate rollingstock failures and incidents, identifying root causes
  • Develop and implement practical engineering and technical solutions
  • Support the development of engineering standards and technical specifications
  • Prepare technical reports and contribute to engineering projects as required

What You’ll Bring

  • A degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
  • A strong interest in the rail industry sector
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and engineering standards
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Effective communication skills and ability to build relationships across teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project tools
  • A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel to sites as required
