An opportunity has presented itself for a Locomotive Driver to join our team in Alice Springs (Northern Territory).

What You’ll Do

Rare opportunity to join our wonderful family at the Alice Spring depot as a Locomotive Driver. You will have the privilege of operating The Ghan - passenger train from Alice Springs to Darwin and additional regional routes as required. This is a rare opportunity for you to take the controls of one of Australia's best known tourist attractions. Predominantly relay work with dedicated depot to passenger services.

Reporting to the Supervisor, you will:

• Have the privilege of operating The Ghan - passenger train from Alice Springs to Darwin and additional regional routes as required
• Predominantly undertake relay work with dedicated depot to passenger services
• Work closely with three other train crew on a relay shift
• Operate one of Australia's best known tourist attractions

What You’ll Bring

To be successful in this role, you must be able to work in a team as each trip will require you to work closely with three other train crew on a relay shift. This also means you will be away home for a number of days and will need to work effectively together and have flexibility to work shift work and being away from home for specific periods of time.

To be successful, you will have:

• Completed Cert IV in Train driving (please upload during application)
• A strong commitment to safety
• Flexibility to work 24/7 shift
• High regard for safety
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

This is an Alice Springs residential role therefore FIFO or DIDO applications are unfortunately not able to be considered.
