An opportunity has presented itself for Locomotive Provisioning Centre (LPC) Supervisor to join our team based in West Melbourne.
What You’ll Do
In this leadership role, you will oversee the safe and efficient operation of our Locomotive Provisioning Centre, ensuring locomotives are available, provisioned and delivered on time to support our Linehaul network and customer commitments.
Reporting to the Linehaul Superintendent, you will:
- Lead the safe, efficient and compliant operation of the LPC facility.
- Lead, coach and develop operational teams to drive engagement, capability and performance.
- Ensure locomotives are provisioned, maintained and delivered on time to support train departures and customer service requirements.
- Manage contractor and supplier performance, including locomotive maintenance and fuel service providers.
- Oversee workforce planning, rostering and fatigue management requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, efficiency and operational outcomes.
- Manage operational budgets and monitor facility performance against business objectives.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers and service providers.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental, regulatory and statutory obligations.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven leadership experience managing large-scale operations, ideally within rail, logistics, transport, manufacturing, or heavy industry.
- Strong safety leadership experience and a genuine commitment to creating safe workplaces.
- Experience driving operational improvement, productivity and business performance.
- Strong people leadership skills with the ability to motivate, influence and develop others.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving capability.
- Experience managing change and building positive workplace culture.
- A collaborative leadership style and ability to build trusted relationships across the business.
- Understanding of logistics operations, customer requirements and service delivery environments.
