About us
Pacific National (PN) is the largest private provider of diversified rail freight services in Australia. We haul a variety of freight including coal, intermodal containers, steel, and a range of bulk commodities and materials that keep the region’s economy, businesses and households running.
About the Role
The Driver Trainer will support the coal training team in developing new drivers across the northern region.
Working both independently and within a team, you will deliver classroom and infield training to ensure train crews are competent, compliant with Rail Safety standards, and up to date with technical training, assessments, and records.
About You
You are an experienced Driver Trainer with a current Cert IV in Training and Assessment, with strong knowledge of train operations, training development, and safety protocols.
You will also be able to demonstrate
- Experience as a driver trainer and accredited as Mainline or Mentor Driver
- Strong track record of safely operating locomotives
- Strong commitment to compliance and safety
- Intermediate proficiency with computers with a focus on MS Office and other related
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility to support the business
