As Australia’s largest private rail freight company, we are integral in keeping Australia’s economy moving. With a rich history dating back to 1855 we are incredibly proud of our heritage and the essential role we continue to play in supporting Australia’s supply chain.

About the role

An outstanding opportunity has presented itself for a Talent Acquisition Manager who wants the challenge and opportunity that comes with leading recruitment at scale.

This is a role for someone who thrives on complexity, enjoys solving workforce challenges with pace and precision, and is motivated by lifting capability across the business. You’ll work closely with senior leaders and the People & Culture team to shape sourcing strategies, modernise hiring practices and technologies, and embed a values aligned approach to recruitment.

If you are a strategic operator who enjoys partnering with the business, and you want the space to make a measurable impact, this is that role.

What you’ll do

Reporting to the Head of People Systems & Services, you will:

  • Partner with leaders to align talent approaches and selection processes to business priorities
  • Lead, coach and empower a team of recruitment professionals, setting high standards for delivery and candidate experience
  • Oversee end to end recruitment delivery, from approval to appoint and transition to onboarding
  • Design and refine sourcing strategies for high volume and hard to fill roles across operational and corporate portfolios
  • Ensure recruitment activity is compliant, consistent and aligned with legislative, safety and governance requirements
  • Use data, insights and trends to stay ahead of demand, manage risk and drive continuous improvement
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and external recruitment partners to deliver quality outcomes at pace

What you’ll bring

We welcome people with diverse experiences and career paths. You don’t need to meet every point to be considered.

  • Experience leading a recruitment or talent acquisition function within a complex or multi-site environment
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high volume recruitment at pace while maintaining quality, fairness and candidate care
  • Strong people leadership skills, with experience developing capability and leading teams through change
  • Ability to partner with and build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders to shape high-impact decisions with credibility.
  • Confidence partnering with senior stakeholders and influencing hiring decisions constructively
  • Knowledge of merit-based recruitment, EEO, diversity and inclusion, and legislative requirements
  • Strong data and system literacy and expertise using recruitment systems and metrics to inform decisions
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Experience in freight, logistics or other safety critical environments is valued but not essential.
