About the role

The primary objective of the Training Principal is to consistently implement learning and development policies, procedures and competency-based training and assessment strategies for our employees and clients on behalf of the RTO within the State or Region in which they are responsible.

Your aim is to support the execution of training plans within designated business units. manage certification compliance, work with regional leaders to make sure all employees are trained and upskilled accordingly, and provide trainees with a positive learning experience within our organisation.

Key responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:

  • Promote training and awareness of training policies and procedures.
  • Manage and coordinate new schools and competency-based training/assessment activities using approved competency-based training packages, consistent with your level of qualifications..
  • Provide technical training support for Pacific National Managers, Supervisors, Drivers and Terminal Operators.
  • Plan, track and improve training and qualification levels within each portfolio.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects aimed at maximising productivity and efficiency, and best business.
  • Review, assess and undertake Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for Pacific National employees.
  • Promote a safe workplace culture and provide leadership, to ensure compliance with Work Health Safety (WHS) Regulations, company policies and procedures. 

About you

To succeed in this role, excellent communication, initiative, confidence, and adaptability are essential, as is the ability to work effectively with people, systems and reporting tools.

Other required skills, experience and attributes include:

  • Hold Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence
  • Must be prepared to complete Accident Investigation Accreditation where required by the State or Region for which they are responsible.
  • Previous experience as a workplace trainer, facilitator, coach, or presenter
  • Ability to embrace change and support continuous improvement.
  • Experience developing and building strong stakeholder relationship.
  • Basic knowledge of RTO and AQF regulatory requirements
  • Flexibility to travel both intrastate and interstate as required.
  • experience within transport / logistics is preferred
