About the role
Working as part of a dynamic, collaborative team, you will play an important role in planning our labour/train crew for a 30-hour time horizon. The key objective of this role is to effectively engage with the operations team to finalise labour for the working roster, aligning crew availability with the business requirements.
This a challenging and rewarding position that has the potential to develop an existing career in logistics, planning or scheduling for the right candidate.
*Note: you will be required to work 10hr – 12hr shifts on a rotating Daywork roster including weekends and public holidays!
Key Responsibilities:
- Development of rosters, assigning crew to align with requirements and EA conditions.
- Development of variation and changes required or solutions necessary to enable recovery to plan.
- Responsible for service plan management which identifies conflicts, constraints, efficiency, and effectiveness opportunities.
- Contribution to the deployment of new and existing services with operations group to improve both business and customer performance.
About you
To be successful in this role, you’ll be expected to demonstrate strong analytical ability and a commitment to problem-solving, coupled with an innovative and creative thinking style. Ideal applicants will be motivated by the prospect of meeting tight deadlines and successfully managing competing priorities. Agility is key for this role as you will be required to respond to and amend plans as changes occur across the operations.
High-level communication is essential, with verbal, written and interpersonal skills integral to success in this role. Ideal applicants will need to demonstrate relationship management experience as a collaborative team player with clear evidence of your ability to build successful stakeholder relationships.
In addition:
- Experience in rail, transport, or heavy industry is advantageous, but not essential
- Experience in labour planning or scheduling “day of” operations within a large business
- Ability or willing to be trained to interpret Enterprise Agreements to assist with rostering
- Experience working with multiple computer systems and ensuring data integrity
- Strong attention to detail
