Terminal Operator – Kalgoorlie

An opportunity has presented itself for a motivated and safety focused Terminal Operator to join our Kalgoorlie operations. 

What You’ll Do

As a Terminal Operator, you play a vital role in the safe and efficient movement of freight, with a strong focus on yard operations, shunting, and train preparation.

Key responsibilities include

• Shunting and train examination duties associated with arrival, departure, marshalling and preparation of trains.
• Inspection of trains and equipment during train operations
• Ensure security and general housekeeping is maintained throughout the area of responsibility.
• Ensure Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) standards and obligations are satisfied.

What you’ll bring

The successful candidate will be passionate about safety and can stay aware of yourself and others in a fast-paced work environment. You will have strong focus on customer service and excellent communication skills.

• Strong commitment to safety — for yourself, your team, and the community
• Ability to work rotating shifts (days, nights, weekends)
• Good communication skills and a collaborative team mindset
• Current motor vehicle licence
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Customer service focus and general computer proficiency

Highly Regarded (Not Essential):

• CN ticket — Reach Stacker operation
• Experience in ground shunt, train inspection, or trackside safety
• Background in logistics, transport, or rail
• Willingness to learn and obtain new competencies
