Every day we transport millions of tonnes of critical freight across the country. Based at our key Acacia Ridge terminal, this role sits at the heart of a high-volume, fast-paced operation. We’re looking for a detail-oriented, safety-focused Planning Officer to support real-time service delivery and keep our network running safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan and allocate train crew to services in line with rosters and operational requirements across a high-volume terminal
  • Monitor real-time network and terminal performance, responding quickly to service disruptions
  • Manage incidents and operational changes to minimise impact on customers and network flow
  • Update and maintain labour and safety management systems with accurate, time-critical data
  • Communicate critical operational updates to internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with service delivery, terminal operations, maintenance, and network teams
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols while supporting crew welfare

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure in a live operational environment
  • Excellent communication – clear, concise, and confident across multiple stakeholders
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced, operational setting
  • Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills
  • Exposure to transport, logistics, rail, or large-scale operations is highly regarded
  • Flexibility to work a rotating dayshift roster, including weekends and public holidays

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of one of Australia’s busiest freight terminals
  • Gain hands-on experience in real-time rail operations
  • Work in a dynamic, high-impact environment where no two days are the same
  • Opportunity to develop skills for future permanent roles
  • Join a team that prioritises safety, performance, and collaboration
