About the Role

Pacific National is seeking a passionate and analytical Asset Data Lead to deliver advanced analytics that uplift asset management, reliability and operational efficiency.

You’ll work closely with stakeholders across Assets, Finance, Procurement, and Technology to understand business requirements, integrate critical data, and develop analytical models that support informed decision-making.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is motivated by transforming data into meaningful insights that drive continuous improvement.

 

What you’ll do

Data Strategy & Integration

  • Understand business models and identify which data is critical to measure, monitor and optimise performance
  • Develop methods to ingest data into Pacific Nationals data hub for analytics use
  • Engage with stakeholders to clearly define analytical requirements

Data Analysis & Modelling

  • Execute analytical experiments to solve operational challenges
  • Build scalable algorithms and data models, clean and validate data, and perform trend and error analysis
  • Analyse patterns and interpret data with productivity and operational outcomes in mind

Implementation & Communication

  • Work with operational teams to implement analytical models into production
  • Communicate insights and translate analytic solutions for stakeholders
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally across all areas of Pacific National
  • Apply strong problem‑solving skills and support additional duties as required

 

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, applied mathematics, engineering or related discipline
  • 1–3 years’ experience in data science or advanced analytics
  • Strong proficiency in data mining, mathematics and statistical analysis
  • Ability to work within a research‑focused environment with multiple concurrent projects
  • Experience with pattern recognition, predictive modelling and scalable data model design
  • Technical skills across Databricks, Power BI, Azure, SQL, Minitab and programming languages (Python, Java, R, SAS)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex analytics into real‑world insights
