About the role

The P&C Compliance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and governance of payroll processes. You will collaborate with stakeholders, identify risks, implement controls, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll procedures. You will be responsible for staying updated on payroll laws and regulations, ensuring tax compliance, conducting audits, maintaining accurate records, managing payroll systems, and spearheading enhancements to payroll procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Risk Identification and Control, conduct assessments, implement controls, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Audits and Reviews, regularly audit data, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate records.
  • Change Management, facilitate change through effective communication and training.
  • Process Design and Delivery, drive process design, support documentation, and training development.
  • Compliance Management, stay updated on laws, provide guidance, and ensure compliance.
  • Tax Compliance and Reporting, ensure accurate tax calculation, timely remittance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement, identify opportunities for process enhancements.

About you

The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role with exposure to payroll compliance, governance, or related roles, with a strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations. You will have excellent communication and relationship building skills as you will need to partner with stakeholders to identify risks, implement controls, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll procedures.

Candidates will possess the following skills, experience, and attributes:

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks effectively.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality of payroll information.
  • Familiarity with Single Touch Payroll reporting.
  • Experience working with Enterprise Bargaining Agreements.
