About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient individual to join us as a Payroll Executive. Reporting to a Sydney-based Payroll Accountant, you will support the team with the following key responsibilities.

  • Assist in Fortnightly Pay Runs: Provide administrative and processing support for Australian, Canadian, and New Zealand payroll cycles.
  • Handle Payroll Queries: Address and resolve payroll queries via the payroll ticket system, escalating complex issues to the Payroll Accountant.
  • Data Management: Keep payroll and personnel records, including timesheets and leave balances, accurate and up to date.
  • Report Generation: Prepare reports and summaries as required by the Payroll Accountant.
  • Continuous Improvement: Help identify areas for process improvement and assist in implementing changes.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who can work flexibly, with some days requiring early starts and others later starts to meet deadlines. Lieu leave is available to offset longer workdays and working on some public holidays.

About the person

Candidates will require the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Confidence and ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.
  • Ability to work effectively both in a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Logical and analytical approach to problem-solving and issue resolution.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and work efficiently.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring thoroughness in completing tasks.
  • Self-motivated and able to persist through challenging tasks.
  • Resilient to change, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and manage external challenges effectively
