We are looking for an experienced Positive Behaviour Support superhero who has a passion for researching and developing others to improve their report writing, formulation and strategy development skills.

We believe in providing services that work and want to ensure our plans are evidence-based but are still practical and appropriate for the participant and the many environments they move within. We aim to help our client’s address their behavioural challenges, achieve their goals and reach their potential. Where restrictive practices are in place the goal is to reduce/eliminate these through skill development, improving emotion regulation and introducing replacement behaviours. Our plans improve the capacity and confidence of the person’s support system in providing effective and valued support. 

In this role you will be:

  • Reviewing Positive Behaviour Support Plans
  • Providing training, support and guidance to staff
  • Participating in research to assist in building the evidence base for our plans with the view of publication in peer reviewed journals

There is also the opportunity to be involved in the supervision of provisional psychologists (where the candidate has psychology registration), or providing PBS or other allied health services if interested.

These are flexible full-time or part-time roles for the right people, with more than one position available as we continue growing our team.

Learning and Development

At ORS we truly value the clinical and professional development of our staff. That is why we have four dedicated Learning & Development Managers in the Positive Behaviour Support division who all possess 20+ years clinical experience, extensive background in university lecturing, and impressive qualifications. You will be able to connect with these individuals in one on one and group training sessions, plus have the ability to email or pick up the phone at any time to ask their advice on complex cases. This resource is in addition to the many Managers and Team Leaders we have on staff!  

A few requirements:

  • PhD/Doctorate (desirable)
  • Background in Psychology/Occupational Therapy/Special Education or Behavioural Interventions for individuals with Autism Spectrum disorder, Intellectual Disability or other complex diagnoses 
  • Experience in understanding the NDIS
  • Experience providing Positive Behaviour Support or similar service within the disability, school or justice sectors
  • Ability to write and edit high quality reports 
  • A car and licence
  • A National Police Clearance, Working With Children/Working with Vulnerable People Check & NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or able to get one for a client facing role (or willingness to obtain one before commencement)
