This role is about disciplined execution, translating WHS strategy and standards into consistent practice, effective controls and decision-ready insight. You will lead risk-based assurance activities, oversee key WHS transformation initiatives, and provide confidence to leaders that critical risks are being managed as intended.

What You’ll Be Responsible For :

  • Drive WHS transformation projects end-to-end, ensuring clear milestones, adoption, and measurable outcomes
  • Embed consistent standards  and governance across sites, assets, and contractors
  • Evolving our approach to risk assessments, audits and incident investigations to drive learning, focusing on both failures and successes
  • Develop strategic, targeted risk reduction action plans in collaboration with senior leaders and business units
  • Design and deliver a risk-based assurance program focused on control effectiveness and compliance
  • Translate data, assurance findings, and incidents into clear insights for leadership decision-making
  • Partner with the head of WSE to lead the national safety meeting to align priorities, review performance, and drive consistent safety governance
  • Drive uplift in risk and assurance capability, strengthening risk assessment quality, critical control ownership, and learning from assurance findings across the business
  • Strengthen contractor safety and oversee complex investigations and recurring risk events
  • Proactively identify emerging risks and support the management and governance of High Potential Incidents
  • Build visibility through dashboards, reporting, and enterprise-wide action tracking

What You Will Bring :

  • Proven experience in WHS leadership within complex, multi-site or asset-heavy environments
  • Strong background in assurance, risk management, and critical control frameworks
  • Experience leading transformation or system uplift programs
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive consistency across diverse operations
  • A pragmatic, outcomes-focused approach with strong analytical and communication skills

Our benefits and perks:

  • Competitive salary package.
  • A positive, supportive workplace culture.
  • Professional growth and development opportunities.
  • Comprehensive, paid training and ongoing support.
