About the opportunity:

• Permanent Full-Time role
• Based in North Sydney or South Melbourne

We are looking for a talented and motivated Senior Software Engineer (AI) to join our AI team. This role focuses on delivering production-ready AI solutions at pace—building internal tools, agents, and RAG pipelines that make work faster across the business.

You’ll partner closely with the AI Product Owner to move ideas from concept to production, with a bias toward speed and experimentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• AI Workflow: Use AI coding tools as a core part of your workflow to dramatically increase development velocity and critically evaluate AI-generated code for correctness and security.
• Implementation: Integrate LLMs, RAG architectures, and agents into product features using orchestration frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Infrastructure: Build backend infrastructure that powers AI products, including APIs and serverless functions (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
• Data Pipelines: Design and maintain data pipelines for RAG workflows, including chunking, embedding, and retrieval across vector and graph stores.
• Experimentation: Design and run experiments to validate AI use cases and define success metrics such as quality, latency, and cost.
• Full Ownership: Ship MVPs that are deployable, observable, and supportable from day one, owning the design, architecture, and production monitoring.

You Will Also Bring:

• AI Experience: Demonstrated commercial experience shipping AI-native features using LLMs, AI APIs, or prompt engineering.
• Tooling: Daily integration of AI coding tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot) and experience with AI orchestration frameworks.
• Cloud Knowledge: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and modern CI/CD practices.
• Technical Specifics: Experience with RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and AI observability/evaluation tooling like LangSmith or PromptFoo.
• Engineering Background: A valued background in full-stack software engineering, including backend services (Node.js, Python, or Go) and frontend capabilities like React.
