About the Role

As the Student Support Team Lead, you will provide strategic leadership to the Student Support team while ensuring NZTC’s strong reputation for student care is upheld. You'll oversee pastoral care processes, monitor academic progress in partnership with key stakeholders, and contribute to the overall student experience by leading support initiatives.

This role will be a hybrid engagement, working out of our Sylvia Park campus and WFH.

Remuneration: Salary range of $75,000 - $80,000 per year, based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the identification and management of student pastoral issues and concerns
  • Monitor student progress and support motivation and engagement
  • Manage team engagement with the Board of Studies regarding student matters
  • Oversee re-enrolment, withdrawal, and orientation processes
  • Coordinate student support during on-campus tutorials and admissions
  • Ensure standards of communication and conduct are upheld
  • Maintain compliance with the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external support agencies

You will bring:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree
  • Proven leadership experience in student support, pastoral care, or related roles
  • Highly developed interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to relate to a diverse range of people
  • Confidence in managing academic processes and procedures accurately and efficiently
  • Proven ability to work proficiently within multiple data management systems
  • Minimum intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • A collaborative and empowering approach that supports and guides your team to thrive
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset, and a commitment to delivering high performance across all areas of student support
