An exciting opportunity has become available for a motivated and customer-focused Trade Centre Supervisor to join our team at our Whangārei Trade Centre.
Reporting to the Trade Centre Manager, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day success of the branch. Working closely with the Trade Centre Manager, you'll help create a positive team environment, drive operational excellence, and ensure customers receive exceptional service every day. This is a hands-on role where you'll balance customer interactions, operational responsibilities, stock management, and manual handling activities while supporting the team to achieve branch goals and KPIs.
This position is ideal for an experienced Supervisor, Team Leader, or a high-performing Trade Sales Assistant looking to take the next step in their career.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Trade Centre Manager to achieve branch sales targets, KPIs, and budget objectives.
- Support, coach, and develop team members to achieve individual and team goals.
- Foster a customer-first culture, ensuring every customer receives exceptional service and the right solution for their needs.
- Coordinate daily branch activities, ensuring workloads are prioritised effectively and customer requirements are met accurately and on time.
- Assist with inventory management, stock control, stock takes, and inwards goods processes.
- Support branch administration, including invoices, banking, stock receipts, purchase orders, credits, and point-of-sale transactions.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and branch presentation.
- Undertake manual handling tasks and support operational activities as required.
- Work collaboratively with Account Managers and internal stakeholders to maximise customer opportunities and business performance.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- Previous experience in a retail, trade sales, customer service, or supervisory environment.
- A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
- The ability to support and motivate team members to achieve results.
- Confidence working towards sales, operational, and financial targets.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to undertake manual handling tasks.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Experience with industrial products, PPE, engineering supplies, tools, or related industries would be advantageous, but not essential. Full training will be provided.
